Working with Organisations

I work with organisations that want to create more opportunity for great thinking and better working relationships.

The work people do can be challenging. Often it's the everyday things that take up the most energy – difficult conversations, boundaries, competing responsibilities, uncertainty, communication and the relationships we have with the people around us.

My work creates space for people to stop, think, reflect and explore what's really going on. From there, they can make connections, see different perspectives and work out practical ways forward.

Because organisations are individual. So are the people and teams within them.

The everyday things that can make work harder than it needs to be

Work doesn't usually become difficult because of one big thing. More often, it's the accumulation of everyday challenges: conversations that don't quite happen, boundaries that become blurred, responsibilities that aren't clear, assumptions that go unchallenged, or relationships that become harder to navigate.

I work with organisations around these everyday challenges, helping people stop, think and work out what might make things easier.

You might be noticing:

  • managers carrying more responsibility for other people's problems than is sustainable

  • difficult conversations being avoided, delayed or handled badly

  • people struggling to establish or maintain healthy boundaries

  • uncertainty about roles, responsibilities or where something actually sits

  • communication becoming muddled, with assumptions filling the gaps

  • tensions between people or perspectives that aren't being explored

  • teams going round in circles rather than finding a way forward

  • people feeling overwhelmed by the everyday demands of supporting others

  • staff who are capable and committed, but finding work harder than it needs to be

  • small issues repeatedly becoming bigger ones

  • people struggling to navigate the impact of change on their roles, relationships and day-to-day work

I believe that giving people space to work through the everyday challenges they face can help them feel more able to navigate their work, relationships and responsibilities — leaving them with more capacity to deal with bigger challenges when they arise.

How I work

I don't believe in forcing every organisation or team into the same framework.

I listen to what is happening for you, your people and your teams, and work with you to create something that makes sense in your context.

The aim isn't to give people another thing to remember or another model to follow.

It's to create space for people to explore different approaches they can take forward into their work.

Workplace Workshops

When you want to develop practical skills around a shared workplace challenge.

Half-day facilitated workshops giving staff space to reflect on their roles and explore the everyday challenges they face at work.

Current topics include:

Navigating Challenging Conversations
Navigating Boundaries
Navigating Roles & Responsibility

If there is a particular challenge or topic you'd like to explore with your staff, we can create a facilitated session around it.

Workshops are available as single sessions or can be combined to create a series, contact me for further details.

Teams Facilitation

When the team itself needs space to make sense of something and work out what needs to change.

Sometimes a team doesn't need another training session.

They need space to stop and think.

I facilitate conversations that help teams make sense of challenges, explore different perspectives and work out what needs to change.

This might be around communication, a project, a change, a difficult relationship or simply finding a different way of working together.

The aim is for the team to leave with greater understanding and practical ways forward that they have created together.

Thinking Space for Managers & Leaders

When managers and leaders need somewhere to think about the real challenges they're carrying.

A facilitated space for management and leadership development. Where managers and leaders can learn with and from each other, explore real challenges and think about how they want to support themselves and the people around them.

Rather than working through hypothetical scenarios, we use the challenges that are actually happening in your workplace.

A space to stop, think, hear different perspectives and work out what comes next.

1:1 Workplace Coaching

When an individual needs dedicated space to think through their role, challenges or next steps.

Individual coaching gives staff space and time to reflect on their role, explore what's going on, look at things from different perspectives and consider the choices available to them.

I don't believe coaching should be exclusive. I offer a range of ways for all staff to access coaching, depending on what works for your organisation.
