Here are a selection of my 2 minute reads. Just short reflections about some of the things I notice. Perhaps you can relate, or perhaps they’ll give you a different perspective on things. Some may just make you chuckle. Whatever they do I’d love to hear!

Looking around I’m sensing a lot of balancing going on.
Some people feeling like they are walking a tight rope, one wrong move and it’s a fall. Some are juggling so many balls they aren’t sure which way is up anymore. There are those with their heads down, powering through, waiting for the world to slow down.
Let’s be fair, adulting isn’t easy. There’s a lot to do, expectations are high. Reality dictates the world won’t stop rotating at the speed it is (I’m no scientist, but I’m pretty sure that’s fact.) The balls will keep coming, life sometimes likes to throw a curveball in too for good measure! That rope can feel so restrictive.
The days pass by. Each evening we collapse, close our eyes and get ready to do it all again tomorrow. Maybe the weekends are different, still lot’s to do but the pace may be slightly slower and perhaps you get to drink an actual HOT cup of tea.
When life gets hard, we all react in different ways. Some people grit on, others may make a huge change. Some go quiet, others talk very loudly about it. I wonder what you do.
When we can’t see a way, it feels overwhelming. Like it will never stop.
I wonder if we consider how we want to be on the other side, it could give us more choice about how to be in the moment. Relationships can become strained, opportunities can be missed, and we can lose sight of what we need when we're simply surviving day by day.
The answer may not be becoming better at balancing, it may be about finding ways to widen your rope…
Routines certainly seem to be a little wonky this week. The sun has finally decided to make an appearance, with Britain doing its best impression of the Sahara.
Schools are closing, pets are struggling, and people are finding some very inventive ways to keep cool. I know my routines have changed, with pet care becoming a top priority and parts of my work shifting to very early mornings to try and beat the heat.
Some changes to routine can be fun, create interest and even feel exciting. Others can be a nuisance, difficult to manage and plain frustrating.
It got me wondering about the routines we create and the reassurance they can give us. The safety of knowing what will happen and when. They reduce the number of decisions we need to make and create a reassuring rhythm to life.
But when routines become the thing keeping us steady, a heatwave, illness, holiday, school closure or unexpected event can leave us feeling strangely out of control.
Equally, routines that once felt helpful can begin to feel restrictive.
Same rubbish, different day.
They become stifling and we feel stuck.
Different situations. Different feelings. But perhaps centred around the same thing.
Our relationship with certainty.
Sometimes we need routines.
Sometimes we need flexibility.
And sometimes we just need to accept that life is a little bit wonky.
The world seems to be speeding up and slowing down all at the same time. The to-do lists are ever growing and never ending. There’s a lot of talk about job safety and financial crisis. I’m hearing a lot of ‘I just don’t know where this will all end up.’ AI is apparently going to take over the world like some apocalyptic zombie movie. Everything feels uncertain.
Uncertainty can be unsettling. It can mean we don't move, don't invest and try our hardest to keep things still whilst the crazy fireworks go off around us. It can cause us to put things off. To wait and see. To tell ourselves we'll decide next week, next month, when things calm down a bit. Like perhaps tomorrow we will wake up and some magical being will have solved all the problems and we can carry on. We go into survival mode, just doing what we can do. Heck, even the weather is totally unpredictable, jumpers, raincoats, shorts and suncream all at the ready!
Time doesn't stand still. It isn't waiting for us to get ourselves together, have a solid eight hours sleep and wake up as a completely different person. It's just there, doing its thing, ticking away.
When everything around us feels uncertain, perhaps choosing something for ourselves puts us back in the driving seat. Do we sometimes allow change to happen to us rather than investing in ourselves?
When the weather is unpredictable, dress for it all.
The truth is, uncertainty isn't going anywhere. It never has.
Maybe the question isn't how we stop the change, but how we keep living whilst it's happening.
Because waiting for certainty can mean waiting a very long time.
